Meng-Chia Lin was born in Taiwan. She studied composition at National Institut of the Arts Taipei (now Taipei National University of the Arts) with Chung-Kun Hong and Nan-Chang Chien. Later she studied in Germany with Mathias Spahlinger and Johannes Schöllhorn as well as electronic music composition with Mesias Maiguaschca, Orm Finnendahl and Michael Beil. She joined master class of Lachenmann, Rihm, Hosokawa, Alfred Fisher and Dieter Mack. Her music was performed in Germany, France, Austria, China, Taiwan and USA. Among them festivals in Donaueschingen, Witten, Berlin March Music, ZKM Karlsruhe and Eight Bridges Festival Cologne . Besides working with musical ensembles like aeolian trio, ensemble chronophonie, she is devoted to cooperation with dancers and music theater. She has been commissioned by leading performing organisation such as New Music Society Hannover, ensemble ascolta, ensemble mosaik.
